PREPARING YOUR BATHROOM FOR TRANSFORMATION:
The initial step in transforming your bathroom into an oasis is to CLEAN!
1. EMPTY OUT OUR VANITY & LINEN CABINETS. There's sure to be items in there you haven't seen in ages! Stop holding on to them!
2. REPLACE OLD TOWELS AND RAGS. Those things have probably seen better days!
3. REMOVE THE OLD SHOWER CURTAINS. How long have you been staring at those nasty water stains? It's time to change those out for fresh ones!
4. CLEAR OFF YOUR VANITY COUNTERTOPS. The vanity top is not a place for collecting razors, used Kleenexes, makeup, or hairspray cans! Get it all off of there!
5. REMOVE ALL YOUR SHOWER ACCESSORIES FROM THE SHOWER FLOOR. This includes your shampoo, soap bottles, back scrubbers, razors, and used rags. They don't belong on the floor of the shower!
6. CLEAN YOUR BATHROOM WALLS, TRIM, WINDOWS, MIRRORS, VANITY CABINET AND VANITY TOPS, SHOWER BASE, WALLS, AND TOILET.
WIPE DOWN YOUR WALLS WITH A WARM RAG AS WELL TO REMOVE HAIRSPRAY DEBRIS AND WATER STAINS FROM HUMIDITY.
TIP: Use unscented environmentally friendly cleaning solutions to avoid allergens.

~My husband and I installed this wallpaper in less than 2 hours!
We removed the mirrors from the wall so we could install easily behind them.
However, we left the toilet in place and rolled the paper down the wall behind it, which turned out to be a little challenging, but it worked!!
It's a very classic look that really made the bathroom feel TALLER and LONGER.

Painting your walls is a critical step in the process of transformation and using the correct sheen will determine how easily you can clean your walls later on. Matte, eggshell, and satin or okay to use in most rooms of your home, but most bathrooms have a lot of humidity (even with humidity fans) and can sometimes "sweat" down the walls. This leaves an unsightly residue that's hard to clean off UNLESS YOU HAVE SEMI-GLOSS paint on your walls. Then it just glides right off with a warm rag when you're doing your weekly chores.
It really depends on your personal preference, but I like to use bright colors to make a bathroom feel clean, airy, and larger. Whites, sage greens, pale grays and beiges are all good color choices for a light and airy bathroom ambience. They also leave lots of options for wall décor!

Choose a simple color for your shower curtain that compliments the accent wall.
**DO NOT GO WITH A COLORFUL OR BUSY CURTAIN DESIGN UNLESS YOUR SHOWER CURTAIN IS YOUR MAIN DESIGN ELEMENT OF THE ROOM.
It is possible to have too much design in one space! Yes I said it...and I meant it!

I chose this adorable white shower curtain with a simple design. This allowed the wallpaper to remain as the focal point in the room and brightened the space even more.
Bright, simple colors tend to add a lot of appeal when you're trying to add elegance and an overall "clean feel" to a bathroom.

Here is another place where you can get creative with texture and design!
INSTALL A WINDOW BLIND THAT IS LIGHT-FILTERING AND ADDS TEXTURE TO THE ROOM.
We chose a bamboo shade in a roman style. This means it has no pull strings hanging down; you just use the wooden rod at the bottom of the shade to push up or pull down. I love the design of the shade because it leaves no room for error. Installation was a breeze as well! It only took me 10 minutes from start to finish. SAY WHAT?!

I've always found it important to add some meaningful artwork to your space, whether it's the bathroom, bedroom, or even your office!
